Enhancing Healthcare Accessibility

At Cross Road Surgery, our mission has always been to provide high-quality and accessible healthcare to all our patients. The global pandemic, a decreasing number of General Practitioners (GPs), and an increasing patient population with complex healthcare needs have made accessing our services challenging. We understand this needs to change

Expanding Our Healthcare Team

To ensure fair and inclusive access based on clinical need, we are expanding our team to include a variety of experienced healthcare professionals:

  • Advanced Nurse Practitioners
  • Paramedics
  • Pharmacists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Adult and Child Mental Health Nurses
  • Social Prescribers
  • Health Coaches

This specialised workforce will collaborate with our GPs to ensure that patients receive appropriate care from the right professional in a timely and safe manner.

Launching a New Access Tool: System Connect

We have listened to feedback from both staff and patients and recognize that our current telephone access and online e-consult service do not always meet our high service standards. To address this, we are launching a new access tool called "System Connect" on 12/06/2024 and you can use this from 7am in the morning.

Features of System Connect

  • Submit Queries Online: Patients can ask questions, report symptoms, and submit administrative queries via a secure online platform.
  • Maintain Open Channels: Our surgery’s front doors and phonelines will remain open to ensure that those who need to contact us by telephone can do so easily.
  • Clear Response Times: Patients will receive a clear response time, with follow-ups being conducted online, via text, by phone, or through face-to-face appointments as appropriate.
  • Efficient Care: The aim is to address your needs efficiently by directing you to the most suitable member of our team.

Commitment to Adaptation and Patient Care

We firmly believe that despite the challenges faced by General Practice, Cross Road Surgery is well-positioned to adapt our services to meet our population’s healthcare needs effectively. We are grateful to our patients for supporting this change in our care delivery.

Thank you for your continued trust and support
